The corn is as high as an elephants eye

Scenes from walking or jogging the dogs out here in the middle of nowhere. I do this almost everyday. If you dont run sporting dogs they drive you nuts, and all my dogs are sporting dogs or crosses! Note the little guy, Sparky, beagle dachshund with his nose to the ground! He's still a puppy, and runs about 3 times as much as the big ones, unless they run off and abandon us. Then he cant keep up.

Sugar Creek Arts Festival in Normal IL

We had some fun Sunday. I suspect the downpour on Saturday kept some vendors away, as there were empty spaces. Here are my 2 favorites.
This painter was selling stylized portaits of women and girls. Prices were 800-900 bucks a painting, and I dont think she sold much, then again, I suspect few people did.

A beautiful baby. Babies and pooches were the status symbols of the day it seemed.

The lovely Karen Fiorino of Makanda Illinois. Her pots were superb, wish I bought one.

I really liked her platter with the cat and birds. Her work is exuberant!

Leah and Sparky sit on a wall on our way to the quad where the festival was held.

Hubby adjusts Sparky's collar, he was afraid he would slip out and into harms way.

A chinese crested.

My kid wanted me to take pics of these green cones, I have no clue why.

Regency Penny Wooden Dolls

I have been making dolls lately, and having a hard time getting some finished. But these were fun, and will be available on the 10th, for Holly Jolly July PFATT Marketplace. I used a wonderful dance slipper from the 20's. All old lace, beads, and hand sewn clothing. I did use a wee bit of glue, as the finish of wooden dolls is slippery for hats! I hand painted and aged the dolls. I adore them! It will be hard saying my goodbyes to them.

2 more......

This is Lu Teal. He's a bantam. Feathered leg. And a proud rooster.

Little Red, a cochin bantam hen.

Well thats all for today. Blogger wasnt nice to me and made me post all these out of order, and what a bother, but now dear Pengy has her chicken photos. Happy Fourth of July!

Barn Cat Breakfast

Yum yum, Brody and Clairebelle enjoy the morning meal.

Fresh hay, and home to the barn cats. We're all set for the winter. It cost a small fortune this year, and I wonder what will happen to all the horses out there not as fortunate as mine.

This is Bo. He is Lacey's mail order husband! He's docile and shy. Bo and Lacey are Brahma's.

See? What did I tell you? He is off to hide, or eat breakfast. Yes our chickens play soccer and prefer a pink soccer ball.

Here is Madame Lacey herself. She is quite dignified, and patiently awaits her turn to drink. She, like Bo, isnt pushy. But she's quite talkative. She comes running when she hears me calling. Oh the mistress of the house always brings me goodies! Lacey lays big brown eggs.

Kingfisher Farm Tour

Good Morning! Kiddo says hello. He is a National Show Horse. Sounds impressive doesnt it?

This is Jezabelle. She is a spotted saddle. She's quite intelligent.(Smarter than above bay horse)

Good Morning! I am quite happy to see you. Our water bowl has been plundered by marauders!

Ah thankyou we were so thirsty!

Water to drink. So refreshing!
