Bent Into Shape

Hubby

Moi

Hubby and I ride recumbent bikes to stay in shape. He has a long frame, and I have a short frame with over the wheel pedals. It doesn't put stress on your knees, back or neck. I hate that constant bending my neck up to see where I am going on traditional racing bikes. But I love my bent!

We rode by a favorite spot of mine, someone has restored this little log cabin, and lovingly tends a garden around it and by the split rail fence.

See you later! Riding off into the sunset.

The last rose of summer........

Anastasia Rose and her warbler is my eBay piece, a lovely vignette with a teddy and her birdy with birdcage, which I made. It is on for 7 days starting today!

I love the view of the back her bonnet, she looks like a sun bonnet baby!
Her silk painted box, a bouquet and a tiny dolly are included.

Farewell to summer

Today is back to school day and the house is so quiet, not to mention lonely. Here's a look back at Leah on her pony this past month. She is getting so tall!
So what's coming up this fall? Hopefully next month will be an exciting collaboration with Vivianne Galli! Here is a sneak peek of my uncompleted part of the work.

100th post party!!!

We took a little day trip to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield Illinois. Most of you know that Abe lived here in Illinois and practiced law here. This is truly the "land of Lincoln". Can you find me in the photo? As an aside I thought it eerie to see the wax figures, lifesize of the Lincolns as they were when they arrived to Washington DC. You can see a figure of John Wilkes Booth behind us to the left.

After an interesting visit we had lunch at Incredibly Delicious. The owner makes all the food, with the best french bread outside of France. The building was once a lovely antebellum home. Its kinda rough now but has that intrinsic charm. The gardens are nice.

Forget about your diet. And yes, it is as good as it looks!

The courtyard is so pretty.

Its a kid friendly place too.

Outside of the restaurant/ bakery.

I had red pepper and spinach quiche with spinach soup. It was INCREDIBLY Delicious. The restaurant is open lunch and is on 7th Street.

Many of the homes here predate the civil war.
