This little bunny has had both ears glued back on, it's only noticeable if you are looking for it. I tied the antique rug ball shirt fabric around his neck. He has cracks in his upper leg where it joins the body. He retains both of his glass eyes. $25.00 plus postage.

The little old dog wears his original leather collar with a nameplate, which was never engraved. His googly glass eyes are uncommon and expressive! Adopt him for $65 plus shipping.

Miss Penelope Bunny is made of fuzzy fabric, has a jointed neck, wired ears, antique shoe button eyes. She wears a tattered antique gown circa 1900 which is dotted with brown flowers. She holds a doll hat from the same era. She has floppy arms and legs, weighted with pellets, and is not for children.

A sweet altered linen blouse, works well as a blazer, size Medium or 12. Dry clean or hand wash, hang to dry. Collar is secured with safety pin to be removed for washing. Trims are all antique scraps of fabric and stamped with French words. There is an antique crystal too!

Tiny hand sewn kitty in pocket has lovely details, string joints and a tail. He's pinned in the soldier boy and dog appliquéed bag, the bag is a very old pocket made of creamy white on white woven detailed fabric.

Third Sunday Fun!

Trade stimulator anthropomorphic cats were the amazing thing at the market today. So sweet, so fun. A charming collector told me about them and even unpacked them so I could film them and share them with you, dear readers! How fun are they??

They have cloth molded faces and were made from some sort of plush, probably synthetic. Meow! What fun! The new owner must have a large home to be able to display them. They are whimsical and purrrfectly adorable.   VIDEO (Another link to the same one highlighted in the first part of the post.)

They're ready!

They are ready for you! My newest works. The little bunny has delightful 1930-40 subtle print ears, is 5 way jointed and has a fluffy mohair tail. His nose is stitched on using old string, which looks just like what was used back in the early part of the 20th century for details. His glittering German glass eyes have been gently distressed by me. His tie is from an old rug ball. He is a new pattern and size; measuring just under 7 inches, sitting. $65 plus shipping. Purchase

The egg shaped pinkeeper, Le Poche Lapin, "The pocket rabbit" is also a brand new design. The egg is filled with gently washed raw wool to preserve its lanolin in order to keep your "sharps" lubricated. If you are a quilter, this pin cushion, with its heavy glass insulator base, is for you. I've tucked a few pretty pins into already. The dove pinkeeper is fashioned from the fabulous fabric, decorated with leaves and scrolls, that I found at a flea market years ago. The base is frosted blue glass, and there is a ruffle of very old lace.
So many pretty details have been lovingly stitched into this dove! Her wings are vintage wool and feather stitched, and her shining eyes are onyx beads. $65 plus shipping.

A letter to my readers

Dear Readers and Friends,

It all starts with inspiration. Any step we take. In the morning, motivated by the warm cup of coffee, buttery toast or the healthy bowl of oatmeal and honey, we climb out of bed, willing our feet to touch the chilly floor. What's next? A series of little rituals as we head into the day.
        As an artist, I am inspired and gratified by materials, especially fabric, my medium of choice. Several years ago, I don't recall how many, I was digging through a box of vintage fabric that was in the middle of a dusty outdoor flea market booth. There were several yards of interesting fabrics, all blues. I'm guessing they were from the 1940's. I grabbed it all and struck a bargain. That purchase still remains a treasure, and it never fails to motivate me to create something.
        This year is off to a snowy white subzero start. And what is warming me up? That stash. And from it I've got some fabulous little creatures for you! I'm mixing the creamy whites and blues and tossing in some toasty mohair for good measure.
Save the date and place, PFATT Marketplace, February 10. New things will be there. In the meantime, enjoy the time to hunker down and savor this time to move at a slower pace, with introspection. Busy spring will be here before we know it!

W.I.P. or "Work in Progress"

I'm working on some springy things for PFATT Marketplace. Here is the one on my lap now. almost done.

 I fell in love with this fabric when I found it at the flea market. I stumbled onto a lot of cool vintage stuff, and this one was just simply stunning. Cool creamy background, blues and a pop of gold.

 A frosty glass base, a glittering eye of onyx. Creamy mohair, and woolen wings.

Well hello there! My goal is to be happy this year. Life has thrown a few curves my way.  Stitching always takes the blues away. So here comes some cheerful little creatures. Happy, let's make some happy.                             

 One stitch at a time, dreams take wing. So fragile. So full of promise. One feather......
